I’ve been really into the half moon manicure and I wanted to share how you can create your own half moon manicure in four steps!

Here is what you’ll need:

  • a base coat
  • a top coat
  • a pair of scissors
  • reinforcements
  • a light, shimmery or metallic nail polish
  • an opaque nail polish

In my version I used Essie’s Buy Me a Cameo, and In Stitches- but use any color combination you may like.

Step 1: Paint your nails with your favorite base coat- this will allow the application of the polish to go on smoothly.

Step 2: Paint your nails with the lighter color-this will be the color of the “half-moon.”

Step 3: Once your nails are completely dried, cut the reinforcements in half- they should look like C’s.  Gently place the curved portion on the top portion of your nail, with the opening facing you.  Gently press down to make sure that the adhesive side is flat and even against your nail-you should do this to every nail.  Then paint your nails with the darker, opaque color.

Step 4: Carefully lift the sticker from your nail and then apply your topcoat.

Voilà! There you have it–a half moon manicure!  We would love to see your half moon manicures, so please tweet us your pictures to @passtherouge.
